Customer Reviews

5/8 In Alloy Steel Socket with 1/4 In Drive Size and Chrome Finish is rated 1.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from The socket looks well made; however, for some reason Westward 1/4 in drive 12 pt sockets do not have drive dimples. The corresponding Westward 1/4 in drive 6 pt sockets have them. Grainger tool tech support says the 1/4 in drive 12 pt sockets should have them, too, but after physically looking at 14 pieces of each 1/4 in drive 12 pt sockets I had received, coming from three different locations, they do not have them. Without the drive dimples, the sockets will not friction lock onto ratchet drive heads (ball bearing or friction ring) or socket drive extensions. Important to me since I don't want to leave behind my socket in a hard to reach spot where I'm using an extension. I don't know if it is every 1/4 in, 12pt socket (both standard and deep), but for Westward 10E865, 10E866, and 10E871 there are no socket dimples, although the corresponding 6pt standard and deep sockets have them.
