Product Details

Rugged 8”H rugged metatarsal boots from Thorogood Shoes are completely waterproof to keep feet dry in most types of wet conditions. The oiled tumbled leather upper is combined with a moisture wicking Nylex lining with X-Stream waterproof membrane. Wide toe cap is larger than standard toe cap providing more room for toes to flex and bend. Includes removable full-length polyurethane insole, rubber midsole, rubber chevron outsole, and composite shank. The rubber midsole is designed to reduce the hazards of puncture wounds caused by sharp objects that could penetrate the sole. Meets F2413-11 Section 5.6 requirements.

Goodyear® welt construction is very sturdy and durable. The welt (a strip of leather or plastic) is stitched to the upper and midsole. The outsole is then attached with adhesive to the bottom and may also be stitched through the welt. The I-Met II internal metatarsal guard is built on the original I-Met patented technology that allows the guard to be completely integrated with the toe cap, which “locks” the guard into place. The Poron I-Met II guard greatly increases the comfort, flexibility and mobility of the foot and ankle while providing ASTM Class 75 protection to the instep.

Note: This footwear is designed to provide secondary protection from incidental contact with live electrical circuits. It meets F2413-11 Section 5.5 requirements and is tested to resist the application of 18,000 volts at 60 Hz for 1 minute with no current flow in excess of 1 milliampere under dry conditions. It should not be worn in explosive or hazardous areas where conductive footwear is required.
