1-5/8 In x 5/8 In x 1-7/8 In Wrist Compass is rated 3.5 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great compass but room for improvement This M9 compass was used for over a decade in multiple countries and tactical scenarios. A very reliable compass that is easy to read and waterproof. I used the compass for a long time with the velcro strap and then I had a friend weave it into a 550 cord bracelet. The compass and bracelet looked great until one of the plastic strap holders broke. I ordered a new 550 cord bracelet with the clipper compass and I just do not like it as much. The new bracelet is very taut and that clipper compass body digs into my skin and leaves a mark. I used the M9 for everything including scuba diving.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from good compass but could be a lot better designed and quality I really like this compass. It does have to be relatively level for the directional disc to rotate freely.I wish they made a better quality version of this compass that wasn't plastic !If they'd make a version of this compass with an aluminum or titanium body and scratch resistant sapphire bezel that was built to last , many would gladly pay the additional cost to own it !As with other tools , it's cheaper to pay more one time for something that's built to last , then to have to replace a lesser quality item several times . There is an old adage , "the cheapest way isn't always the least expensive way in the long run"...Suunto also needs to put detailed videos on their site , to explain how the features of their products work !The viewing window has a tiny magnifying glass built into it that's poorly thought out and is ridiculous. It's supposed to help you see the bearing for the direction you're headed , but because it's so tiny you're only able to see one out of the three numbers. The entire viewing window should be a magnifying glass , not just a tiny part of the window...I wear this every day on the opposite side as my watch , so it gets sweaty and grimy.I have tested this for moderate water resistance and have had no problems. I wear this in the shower and scrub it with a soft bristle toothbrush to clean the sweat and grime off of it , the same way I clean my watch and watch band. There aren't really any producers of a really good quality wrist compass that's well designed , functional and built to last. This could be a real opportunity for Suunto to design a product and dominate the market !

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Cheap material Strapped this compass to my wrist along side my watch and it lasted a full 3 mins and 30 seconds before one of the plastic strap guides snapped under the tension of my flexed wrist. This is an ideal design to a simple product but I would love to see some thought put behind upgrading the quality of the termo-molded plastic (please let me know if you need my further consult on the design of this product as I would be happy to expound and Beta test for you). This is not the standard which I have come to expect from my other Suunto devices. I recommend this product for anything lower impact than bird watching.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from best wrist compass I've used I have had 3 of these since 2000 and I use them for primary deep scuba diving navigation and for terrestrial navigation on cave diving trips. It survives well past 100m. It cracked after 7 years and its replacement was lost in a storm last year. I am on my third. Its more durable than the clipper compass and easier to see as its bigger. The card has never failed to point accurately north, what killed it was the plastic construction eventually failed either due to age or abuse. Some technique has to be used to insure the card rotates freely when sighting. No issues taken from 28F to 88F underwater and -20 to 140F surface temps.
