Rated 5 out of 5 by 2reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by With the Stanley One Position 10-199 Fixed Blade Utility Knife more than half of the blades cutting edge is exposed. That's a problem when a dull blade is flipped. The center of the blades cutting edge is reused so it's dull at the handle where most cuts are made. With the Stanley Two Position 10-299 Fixed Blade Utility Knife less than half of the blades cutting edge is exposed. That's a problem when a dull blade is flipped. One third of the blades center cutting edge is unused and wasted. With the Stanley One Position 10-705 Fixed Blade Utility knife the blades cutting edge is perfectly split. There's NO PROBLEM when a dull blade is flipped. You Get Full Use Of Every Blades Entire Cutting Edge. I also like the easy open blade change thumb screw on this Ergonomic highly visible yellow all metal utility knife. I replaced all my Utility Knives with the Stanley 10-705 Fixed Blade Utility Knife.Rust is a problem when the 11-921 Blade gets wet. I did find some 92 type Stainless Steel Utility Blades online. None were made by Stanley. I'd like to see Stanley making 92 type stainless blades in the future. A Stanley One Position 10-705 Fixed Blade Utility Knife with a Stanley Stainless Steel Blade would be the perfect Utility knife, Hunters knife, Fishing knife, etc. June 24, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Stanley 10-705 Fixed Blade Utility KnifeThe Stanley 10-705 Fixed Blade Utility Knife has two notches that lock the 11-921 blade in a solid fixed position. The one position blade is perfectly centered so you get full use of every blade. With most utility knives less than half of the blades cutting edge is exposed. When a dull blade is rotated the center of the blade is unused and wasted. Then you have those utility knives in which more than half of the blades cutting edge is exposed. When a dull blade is rotated the blade is dull at the handle (where most cuts are made) causing too many unclean cuts. Usually with those types of utility knives the blades are only used once and not rotated. The opposite side of the blade is unused and wasted. Not a problem with the Stanley 10-705 Fixed Blade Utility Knife. I say again... The one position blade is perfectly centered so you get full use of every blade. September 11, 2012
