Rated 1 out of 5 by from Chips flew Not very happy steel is brittle. I guess you would use it more for swamp than jungle.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Top Choice on a Budget Owned for more than a year, bush crafting and camping every weekend often wilderness, primitive backpacking. No Trail Camping. Machete is made of real nice steel, easily sharpened to a ridiculous edge. Scabbard is cheap but adequate, I'm glad to save the bucks a better scabbard would cost. Handle is super comfortable with a glove or not and indexes beautifully. The ornamental saw is a bit funny however, an hour with a good file and mine is functional to a depth of about 2 inches, perfect for toggles and shelter creation. Sweet tool.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice Machete I just received my 18" Machete i bought for a upcoming camping trip and to clear a trail of some over grown bushes by my boat.I read a lot of negative reviews on Amazon and see here too!It looks made well blade is thin ( but at this price range...) Very sharp (shaves hair )I don't see the necessity for it to be that sharp! of course you will always have to re sharpen it with an edge that sharp, I think it it should have an edge more suited for tougher work like the blade was intended for!So far i'm please with the purchase will update after the camping trip.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Looks great but very very cheap! I bought this a week ago. I use it to clear my trail of branches max 1/2" dia. After 1/2 a kilometer it was full of dents. When young a had a machete a fraction of the price and was able to cut down trees up to 2" in dia. This machete is very cheap. I return it for replacement, I hope this was a defect product or else I will spend my entire life to return it for a new one !

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Bum sheath Check the sheath before you buy to make sure the blade will fit in the sheath. I got the SOG FARI for Christmas. It's kind of a disappointment to the person giving you the present when the sheath is to small for the knife especially when its your son. So if you buy a sogfari as a present; check the sheath. Oh, yes I did try and take it back to the store but they were out & did know when they would get anymore. I will be calling you as there is a lifetime warranty on the back of this package. I feel overall it is a good machete. The blade does get nicks however, they are easily removed. The saw is a crosscut so it works very well too.
