Rated 5 out of 5 by 1reviewer.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Precise, forgiving sensor!I was originally using a photoelectric sensor to determine if a metal plate was present or not, but the smallest change in angle or even how shiny the surface was caused issues. This sensor does the job great. It's forgiving in that it will work fine if I angle it significantly, it even detects reflections off of another object. (I aim it at the table at a 45deg. and it works just as reliably to detect my hand or object reflected off the table.) It has about a 20 inch max range. The sensor is easily taught a close and far range either with the teach button or by holding the white wire to the blue wire for 4 sec. and then showing a close limit (then touch white to blue 1sec) and then far limit (then touch white to blue again 1sec.)It also has a very narrow 'beam' so I can mount it right against a wall and it will 'see' straight without the wall causing disruption. You can test it and set the range with a 9V battery and the lights make it easy. This one, however has an M12 connection like the picture, so you will need an M12 cable (female with holes for the prongs) with free wire ends or the teach button to 'teach it'.
