Mobile Headset; For M214C is rated 3.1 out of 5 by 26.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Love/Hate Plantronics M214C cordless phone headset I bought the M214C headset 10 days ago and overall am disappointed because a 60 cycle hum badly disrupts conversations. The hum loudness depends on where and the direction my head is turned but it never goes away completely. On the other hand the clarity and volume of conversations over the headset is vastly superior to my old headset. I'm returning the headset to the store and exchanging it for another with the hope that the first headset has a defect that won't be in the second

Rated 1 out of 5 by from This headset is defective I've used an M214C for years with my phone in my office. When I received my new headset it buzzes loudly with every phone call. I need to return this headset. Please send me the appropriate paperwork to do so.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from 2.5mm connection to phone no longer working Both myself and my husband use these headsets for work. They work great for a while, then it no longer works correctly. BOTH of our headsets stopped working on the same day. In order to get it to work, you have to twist the 2.5mm connection and find a spot where it now works with the phone, and then you can't move the connection at all otherwise, you can no longer hear through the headset. While I like the product when its working, it seems to stop working in a matter of a year or two and needs to be replaced. Products should last longer than this. It does seem to make it to the one year warranty mark, but not much past that so unable to get replacement through the warranty. Is there any way to fix our existing headsets???

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Wish it lasted more than a few months I have been using these for 5 Years. Nothing else is available at the stores. I always get the product protection since they don't last. I need it for work so when it breaks I have to retail. I'm going to order another one online and keep this one as back up. Tired of them not lasting.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I've ALWAYS SWORN by these I work from home - between a friend & I we have used these exact models (M214C) for 5 yrs by me & 10 by her. In the last few months every headset we have bought (5 combined) they all have a buzzing sound. While placing orders for customers this is NOT good. I've ALWAYS been a lover of these headsets & have never had an issue with buying a new one every year or year & a half; however... the buzzing that we hear now.... makes me frustrated. Not sure what to do at this point because I don't trust another headset like I have always trusted this one. Have you guys cut back on a wire when manufacturing these? PLEASE fix these.... ASAP!!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Sound is Terrible I bought this to put on another phone at home. I have the earlier version, bought about five years ago. WHAT a difference. The incoming volume on this new one is almost nonexistent. And I have perfect hearing. My older model is about 5x louder. Will definitely return this. Quality has gone way down.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great as expected This is the highest quality corded headset that I have used with a landline phone.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointed. Plantronics is better than this. I bought the 214 from a local office supply store because I could not find the better version (175c) anywhere and saw it was discontinued online. What an utter disappointment. PROS - None reallyCONS - Mute button is not easy to find or use in a hurry (say a sneeze or cough). - Constant crackling sound just from the cord slightly moving. - Incoming volume level is nowhere near as high, even at max volume (I tested it versus my 175c that is becoming useless after 3 years due to cable fatigue) - Listeners complain of voice being too soft on low setting, but almost yelling on high sound setting - Worst of all, the designer of the packaging must not know much about cable fatigue. The cable coming out of the mute switch is bent 180 degrees right at the connection point. You can already tell there is fatigue in the cable from this and I am willing to bet it won't last three months. Cables are almost always the weakest link in this type of headset and when you exacerbate that with such an easy to spot packaging issue, well .. I just have to believe you don't want them to last. The only good thing about this headset is that it might give me three months to figure out something else. Plantronics OWNED the 2.5mm cordless landline phone headset market and they basically just let us all down.I have found some 2.5mm adapters that fit the better Plantronics 'Quick Disconnect' headphones and I have so much respect for Plantronics that I might try one of those, but I am very disappointed in their decision to get rid of the best headset I think they have ever made. Please bring back the 175c, with a bit more durable cabling and I would easily drop twice the money on it than this 214.I give this two stars only because it is still better quality than all the ripoff generics out there that sound like something from a kids toy. I would give it more if I felt it truly deserved the great Plantronics brand name. Very disappointed.
