Mobil Cylinder gear oil is designed for use in enclosed worm gears operating at moderate to high speeds and temperatures, and in applications with heavy loads, slow speeds, and high temperatures that demand high viscosity oils. It is also intended for use in steam engine cylinder applications, and is formulated from high quality base stocks that resist oxidation, thermal degradation, and harmful deposit build-up from steam cylinders. It protects against rust and corrosion, provides good film strength, and helps to resist water washout. Use in worm gear and steam cylinder applications, couplings, and bearings.
