Rated 4 out of 5 by Where is the bit holder and belt hook?? I just bought the new brushless M18 to replace my older cordless version which still works great but the batteries are fading. July 12, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by very stout, yet nimble and versatile 90% of my use is light duty, "around the house" stuff. I wanted something that was small and light for such. Occasionally, I have a "heavier duty" project that needs POWER (torque) (like drilling 2" tapcons into cement)...without being unwieldy with the little stuff. This is the perfect match. Small, light (OMG, others are HEAVY), and 650 inch lbs of torque. I don't need a lighter duty 12 volt because this covers everything. I've been out of the market for about a decade or so...did MUCH research amongst major manufacturers and kept coming back to Milwaukee... June 1, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Hands Down...The Best Drill I've Owned! I've been wanting this drill in the worst way ever since I received an email from Milwaukee announcing it's availability. Milwaukee quality, 18 volt FUEL, Brushless motor, and 2 Li-Ion batteries...Sounds like a wish list. When this drill arrived, I was not disappointed. The fit, finish, and quality were visibly apparent. When I picked up the drill I was amazed at how well it felt in my hand. It had an outstanding balance, and felt as if the grip was molded for my hand. Switch placement was dead-on for ease of forward / reverse selection. Running through the clutch settings and Hi / Low speed's produced a smooth, yet continuous fluctuation in speeds. With the motor being brushless, the sound this drill makes is very unique, unlike all the other drills I've owned. There is absolutely no motor strain or high-pitched whine witnessed, even after driving about a dozen 3" outdoor screws in a project I was finishing up. This drill simply didn't skip a beat. The batteries are remarkable. After driving all those screws into pressure treated 2x6's, the battery indicated only one bar of charge used. I easily would have changed batteries at least once using my old Li-Ion's in my other drill. It appears the M18 FUEL speaks for itself. I love the fact that Milwaukee had the foresight of the charger being of dual use. This way, I can take the batteries from my Milwaukee 12 volt and charge them along with these using the same charger, thus eliminating yet another battery charger laying around. Nice touch. There is absolutely nothing I don't like about this drill...It is easily the best drill I've ever owned. I am thrilled with it, and know that this beast of a drill will long be a productive asset within my tool arsenal. May 19, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent Cordless Drill!!! Don't take this drill if you plan on blaming the cordless drill for not having enough power to get it done. Because you won't have that option with this drill, it can do it, really! This one is the real deal, I made approximately 40 drill holes through heavy dense wet treated wood, thickness of one 4x6 going after the 6 thick side (I used a twist bit, should have used my flat wood bit but it seemed to have walked off), the drill had no problem with the task. Then I used it to drive 4 inch screws in, again no problem, very impressed by the power of this cordless drill. I've used many cordless drills over the time; in fact this was an upgrade from a decent Hitachi 14.4 model. But this one really surprised me, in the past all the cordless drills I had were okay but never kept up to a wired 120 volt unit. This one even outperformed my trusted, never fail, and never bog down 120 volt drills. In fact I went back and re drove the screws in further from when I had used what I thought was my powerful 120 volt corded hammer drill. This Milwaukie cordless drill drove them in even deeper …..Whoa that wasn't supposed to happen, but it did and I became a believer of this drill. With the load I was doing I completely drained the battery; put it on the charger and back to full life in less than 30 minutes for that battery, again whoa! Once piece of advice, get a real screw bit holder, I bought some piece of junk at Lowes, it wobbled, barely sits in. So get something real that is at the same level of this drill. You don't want anything to cause your experience with this drill to be less than perfect. It's an amazing tool and get the full experience out of it. It would be kind of like buying a Ferrari and putting retread tires on it. Defiantly recommend, in fact I have already starting telling my friends about this drill. May 19, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by we asked for better they made it happen I bought this drill about 4 weeks ago since then every day I drill 1" unibit holes in the frames of international chasis this is heavy duty work in a professional setting never before have I seen a battery drill preform as well as this one I am very certain I will never need another drill. Rated 5 out of 5 by Good things come in small packages 4 weeks ago I got hold of a Milwaukee M18 CPD-32C, and have been testing it ever since. The first thing I noticed is the compact sized case, in comparison to all my V28 cases which are probably a little too big. As you can see from my pictu re I have quite a few Milwaukee power tools, all the cordless stuff is either ancient 12v Ni-cad or V28 beasts, and also not pictured I have 2 bigger hammer drills. I thought cordless drills couldn't get close to my V28's performance and quality; well it seems that technology has moved on. The light weight M18 feels so very well made and designed, with a lot of nice new features. Such as; the built-in clip, the light and the dedicated screwdriver setting. It's good to see the metal chuck has been retained, unlike other 'premium' brands which have gone plastic. The detachable handle is a very nice improvement on the V28 one, very sturdy and robust. Delivering very nearly the same torque as the V28, from only 2/3 of the voltage is impressive stuff, I gave the hammer function a go drilling some holes in masonry, which normally I'd use the V28 for, or even the big corded drill. It managed very well and didn't struggle or stall. In my day job I'm an engineer, and thought I'd use the M18 on some precision metalwork, needless to say the results were flawless. Drilling 20mm holes through thick metal plate would be too much to ask of most other cordless drills. The variable speed trigger switch is nicely controllable too, even at very low speed. On to my next project, some woodwork; The M18 has that extra power for driving in screw after screw where the M12 would struggle, it's light enough to carry on working for hours where the V28 would be making my arm ache due to the weight! I'm also impressed with the small form charger, and its ability to charge M12 too. Shame I just bought a M12 charger a month before. To wrap up, I'm very pleased with this new tool & would recommend it highly… I just need to save up for the circular saw next. February 18, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent Reno Tool I bought this drill when I was resheathing my roof for shingles. It worked nice and smooth all day long. It feels good in your hand and has lots of power. The variable speed works really well too. A week later I was doing drywall repair and had no problem tightening down the screws without piercing the paper. Another great Milwaukee tool. Rated 1 out of 5 by Powerful I bought this drill along with a replacement 28v hammer drill. The fuel drill worked great for about month until the chuck retaining bolt snapped. This seemed as a freak incident, until a week later my boss's drill did the same thing. Im Disappointed since I talked my boss into buying Milwaukee instead of dewalt. June 25, 2012
