These water-cooled oil coolers are compact and operate quietly. Because the tubing is submersed in water, cooling capability is not affected by ambient air temperature and the heated oil does not release heat into the air. Water oil coolers can be mounted vertically or horizontally. They are used in high-pressure applications such as those found in oil refineries and chemical processing plants.

Water-cooled oil coolers are compact and use water to cool hydraulic oil. Sometimes called shell-tube heat exchangers, hydraulic fluid moves through tubing in the oil cooler while water surrounds the tubing as it passes through the receptacle. Water-cooled oil coolers can be used in high-pressure applications such as those found in oil refineries and chemical processing plants. Keeping hydraulic oil cool helps extend system life by reducing wear and damage caused by excess heat. Heated oil causes excess wear on seals, surfaces, and other components, which can cause particulate buildup and damage components.
