Product Details

A rugged, compact, portable stroboscope, the Fluke® 820-2 is an excellent noncontact diagnostic tool for mechanical troubleshooting and process or product research and development. Its high-intensity 7-LED array lets you perform stop-motion measurement and diagnostics without actually stopping or making contact with the machine, and without having to apply reflecting tape. With the 820-2, you can identify the running speed of rotating equipment; diagnose parasitic oscillations, flaws, slippage, or unwanted distortions; and measure rotation speed or frequency on a rotating shaft, speaker, or part—it'll even help you identify part numbers or other markings.
Use it to diagnose clutches and cogwheels; belt-driven machines including HVAC fans and pumps; and roller bearings, shafts, gear teeth, and other machine components. You can check resonance vibrations on foundations, monitor mixing and dosage processes, and assess wear or damage on cable or piping.
The high-efficiency, uniform-flash LED solid-state light source allows up to 300,000 fpm (flashes per minute), which combines with digital pulse width modulation to return exceptionally sharp images at high speeds.
This digital stroboscope's durable design includes easy push-button operation and a highly accurate control system: 0.02% ± 1 digit.
Lighten your toolbelt: The 820-2 can be used as a strobe tachometer to measure speed on visible components that have a point of reference, instead of a separate laser or contact tachometer.
