Product Details

Innovative anchors help avoid the problem of the anchor falling behind the wall when the installed fixture is removed. Plastic straps hold the metal channel in place so the same anchor can be reused. Ideal for use in block, cement board, brick, stucco, drywall, plaster, fiberglass, and wood.

Toggle Anchor,3/8-16,PK25 is rated 1.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from I bought a package of these toggle anchors and another two packages of larger ones (40P475) to mount several heavy steel frames to a wall made of two layeres of 5/8" drywall. Once installed and screwed in, they seem to have held fine. However, you should find a better quality product elsewhere. Out of my first 14 attempted installations, 5 of the toggles broke from the plastic side straps in the wall when I tried to screw in the bolts. This is because the "ears" on the straps barely protrude outside the holes in the toggle and break loose from the toggle as you are attempting to get the bolts to engage the toggles' screw threads. If there is any drywall paper spall on the backside of the hole you drilled that causes the toggle to be slightly off 90 degrees with the straps, following the directions will result in your pushing the toggle right off the straps. I would have returned these (if possible) and bought higher quality products elsewhere, except that my project was on a tight schedule. Because a package gave me more than I needed, I was able to tolerate the high failure rate. My advice is that if you insist on using these things, first, crip the sides of the toggles slightly to help prevent them from disengaging from the side straps. Then, do not push the exterior ring tight against the wall (as per the directions) before trying to insert the screw or bolt. Separate the straps at the exterior end and very delicately engage your screw or bolt in the toggle nut inside the wall, then pull the exterior ring tight with the wall. Hopefully, the straps, which are very stiff and fragile themselves, will not break prematurely, thereby causing you to have to start all over again with a new toggle anchor. Once you suceed in locking the device against the wall, you can break the straps off and take the screw or bolt out to hang your project. BUT, upon reinserting the screw or bolt, you again have to be very delicate with the toggle because you can still push it off the straps while trying to get the screw or bolt to engage.
