Product Details

Designed for light-duty and intermittent use, this CENTURY air compressor motor is a direct replacement for Century® air compressors. Mechanical features help provide long life in high-tension, belt-type loads, which can typically shorten motor life. The motor’s high breakdown torque helps ensure dependable service.
Note: Use on other applications voids warranty.

5 HP Air Compressor Motor,Capacitor-Start/Run,3450 Nameplate RPM,230 Voltage,Frame 56HZ is rated 1.2 out of 5 by 11.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Absolute worst electric motors on the market. First the same motor came from the factory with this motor lasted a 1.5 year and then replaced with second that lasted less than a month. Would give negative if possible. Going with a different brand for sure.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Same as all the other horrible reviews. First motor lasted 2 weeks, the second lasted 1 day. Trying the third now. At least Grainger is good about replacing the lousy excuse for a motor. They say they are looking into why these are so bad.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I read the bad reviews decided to take a chance, Mistake! piece of junk lasted one day. Works great as a door stop.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from DisappointingPurchased motor on 6/6 installation went well. Motor ran very well. compressor ran every 6 to 7 minutes for 3 to 4 minutes.Today (6/16) it sounded like it was single phasing (i know it is only a single phase) them quit seconds later. found a hole (plug in end of cap between leads) in the start capacitor, small amount of liquid in run capacitor. no clear reason why.Grainger is working with us to replace this motor

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Three time using this motor. The first lasted 2 days before clicking and rattling started. replaced with another. It lasted 1 1/2 years. I received a third motor. This one clicked and rattled when I first turned it on.I'm replacing it with a WEG this time. A few dollars more but worth it if it last longer and runs quiet.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from It's as bad as everyone says. Lasted ~3 weeks before it smoked. Thermal breaker didn't even trip, the main breaker tripped and now I have a compressor room that's covered in soot and stinks. Lucky it didn't start a fire!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from SHOULD HAVE REMEMBERED THE LAST TIME WE NEED A MOTOR A FEW YEARS AGO IT TOOK THREE TIMES TO GET A CENTURY MOTOR THAT WORKED AFTER EXCHANGING IT. WE NEED ED ANOTHE ONE ON 4/22/14 AND WITHIN ONE DAY IT FAILED. CHANGED BRAND OF MOTOR WILL NOT BUY ANOTHER CENTURY MOTOR AGAIN

Rated 1 out of 5 by from For a continuous duty motor, this thing gets super hot. Its no wonder that the life of them is so short.
