Bath Fan Upgrade Kit is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 34.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from No better than old fan Replaced older unit that had served us well, no quieter than the 12yr old one was maybe a little louder but it installed in no time at all. Will look into another brand next time around.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Start off nice & quiet, but....... Replaced 2 units. Installation was a breeze. I was also glad to have a new white grille to replace the yellowed one. I'm disappointed that after just a few days of use, the fan motor RPM would suddenly ramp up after being on for a few minutes. It's obnoxiously loud the majority of the time now, which is unfortunate for a 1/2 bathroom just off of the kitchen. Any help in remedying this situation would be greatly appreciated.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent product Very easy to install if original vent fan box was properly installed and electrical wires attached properly and folded up tight. It is quiter than original builder installed Brian fan. Much better fan and grill cover.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from easy peasey Builder fan, 20 years old, came right out and this replacement popped back in it's place. While it is quieter than the old one, especially when it started shrieking, it could be quieter. Well worth the money

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Way to go Broan! Used this for a Mercury (NuTone/Scovill) housing labeled "690 thru 696-A Unit". This model wasn't listed in the specs but the dimensions matched so I took a chance. The "690 Motor Plate (8" x 7.25") fit perfectly. The only thing in the kit that didn't match was my housing did not have the tabs to hold the scroll band, as described in the instructions. That was easily remedied using a pop-rivet (see attached image). The original fan was 50 CFM and 4.0 Sones so this unit was an improvement on both counts, albeit small. Actually, when I removed the housing from the ceiling (not normally required for this unit), I found the 3" flex hose blocked the exhaust flap from opening so we never had the full output of the original fan. To fix this, I added a rigid plastic collar which mated nicely with the flex hose (see attached image).Wish I had known about this product 10 years ago when I replaced two similar fans. Thanks Broan!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to install. First watch the Video, They help. Good product. The one I replaced in the bathroom was over 12 years old. Followed the instructions on the video and it took about 15 Minutes. The 690 is 20% stronger than the old 688 model I replaced. But makes less noise.
