Customer Reviews

10-1/2 In x 11-3/8 In x 7-5/8 In Bathroom Fan, 110 CFM, 1 Amps is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from This is a difficult unit to install and wire correctly. The installation instructions are missing important information and are wrong in places. I installed the ZB110HL with a 77DW switch. The wiring instructions were so bad that I need to call for technical assistance, The instruction sheet that came with the switch did not agree with the instruction booklet for the ZB110HL. Now, that's confusion! The failure in this respect would be easy to fix with a supplemental sheet of paper. Please note that this unit requires both a 14/2 and a 14/3 cable for complete installation. In many cases that will mean running additional wiring. Also worth noting is that the fan outlet is on the side of the unit and leaves very little allowance for the ceiling and its support structures. I had to cut away a fair amount of strapping to make room for the outlet.. Rotating the fan so that the exit is on top of the unit would be an improvement.Minor, but not insignificant shortcomings:. 1. This unit comes with two 3500K CFL bulbs. They are too bright and the wrong color. They should be 2700K or 3000K. The output is the equivalent of 150 watts; far to much for a bathroom.2. The spring clips that hold the plastic cover in place are at least 2 inches too short. They are unnecessarily difficult to get in place. Removal of the plastic lens over the bulbs is poorly designed. I can just imagine a 75-year old woman trying to replace a bulb.3. There may be a way to test the unit's full power, but I couldn't find it, and so I will just need to wait until someone takes a shower. One thing is clear to me: No Broan (or Nutone) technician has ever tried to install this unit from the instruction booklet.. If one had, the wiring instructions would be fixed, the spring clips would be improved and the lens would be easy to remove. There might even be an obvious way to power the unit up to full speed.Despite all of my criticism, I still like the unit and suspect that it will perform well.
