Rated 5 out of 5 by Works for me This drill is the replacement for myBosch 1198 which still works it's only20 years old I thought it's time for aUpgrade the HD21-2 runs coolerAnd has more torque don't throw yourMoney away on others get somethingThat lasts December 18, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Drills concrete like butter. Wish I had it sooner! This was rated best for quality and performance, and I am glad I followed those recommendations. You barely lean into it to bore a straight and clean hole... no fuss, no overheating drill motor or bits. April 10, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Tool I bought this tool a couple of weeks ago and everything seems to be up to Bosch standards which is very high. It has plenty of power and feels good in your hands. I really like having two drive speeds and the fact that this drill is not huge or overly heavy. It comes with a nice case also. September 30, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by Second drill that motor started smoking after use it a couple of time in hard concrete. I bought Bosch because the reputation and country of origin but with this repetitive issues I think I will give Milwaukee a try. July 18, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Very effective I bought this hammer drill to use to drill concrete. It does this, with the proper bits, better than expected. I also used it to drill holes for bolts in 4x4 and 4x6 treated posts with ease. I have a couple of other Bosch power tools and will replace all of my power tools with a Bosch equivalent as expendatures allow. April 20, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Wonderful Had to replace a 30 year old Milwaukee hammer drill that needed new brushes (again) and decided it was time to upgrade. Theirs are now made in China, and while that made me a little wary, my suspicions we confirmed when I picked it up. It looked and felt cheap. This Bosch, on the other hand, is Swiss made and it is clearly built to last. At over 50,000 blows per minute, it is a beast. I've used it extensively for boring into masonry (tap cons, etc.) and it drills through concrete with ease in the hammer setting on second speed. Sinks screws in very nicely on the first speed. No vibrations while drilling, and I would never have thought that I could use my 6 1/4" hole saw without seriously hurting my wrists and elbows. This thing didn't even flinch - incredible. This is no joke - I put a 4 1/2" hole saw through five studs at a 30 degree angle. One-handed. Above my head. It didn't even pretend to buck. I wanted to kiss it.For the record, the only drill that gets better reviews on any site that I've found is the DeWalt, and the only thing it has on this drill is 10 amps. You don't need 10 amps unless you're ready to move up to a rotary or demo drill. And those same reviews mentioned that its chuck was a typical DeWalt chuck - prone to slipping - and pretended that it was okay. Your chuck should never slip. This one never does. It is solid, and comes with a a chuck tool that a real person can use, not just someone with tiny hands.Only gripe is that it's too big to fit between floor joists with a hole saw or spade bit, but that's true with any hammer drill. Rated 5 out of 5 by Does the job right the first time. I bought this hammer drill to install networking equipment. Installing wall anchors and floor anchors is a breeze using the right bits. Measure the depth of the anchor, set the stop guide, and start hammering. Flip the switch and turn it into a regular drill that just won't quit! I've been using it for over two years now, and it still drills and hammers like the day it came out of the case! April 4, 2012
