Bloodborne Pathogens Training
The Grainger Safety Services network's training through the American Health & Safety Institute (AHSI) is an excellent program choice for bloodborne pathogens (BBP) and basic first aid skills that gives participants the confidence to respond. This awareness level course includes a review of OSHA standard 29 CFR 1910.1030 on Occupational Exposure to Bloodborne Pathogens.
Confined Space Entry Training
Confined space training can take on many forms. The Grainger Safety Services network offers two types of rescue training: non-entry and entry. Entry training is more complex and requires a great deal more prep and training. This involves rescue personnel who are trained, qualified and authorized to use breathing equipment such as SCBAs. The training will also include the use of ropes and methods for removing entrants by means other than a body harness.
First Aid/CPR/AED Training
The Grainger Safety Services network's combination training through the American Health & Safety Institute (AHSI) is an excellent program choice for CPR and AED training that gives participants the confidence to respond. You will receive a pre-class survey to isolate areas of concern. All courses will provide two-year certification. The majority of class time will be spent in hands-on skills practice, using a 2:1 student-to- mannequin ratio.
Electrical/NFPA 70E Arc Flash Safety Training
The Grainger Safety Services network routinely conducts NFPA 70E training for public and private sector customers in the U.S. Topics include arc flash overview, approach boundaries, qualified/unqualified employee requirements, arc flash protection boundaries, job briefings, personal protective equipment (PPE), care and maintenance of flame-resistant clothing, safety signs and tags, energized work permits and more.
Electrical Safety Training
The Grainger Safety Services network offers electrical safety training for those qualified and affected employees who may need to work on or near exposed electrical parts or energized electrical equipment. Basics of lockout/tagout on industrial machines and equipment will be covered as well as safety-related work practices of OSHA regulations and NFPA standards.
Ergonomics Awareness Training
The Grainger Safety Services network offers certified professional ergonomics consulting to help identify ergonomics issues and implement meaningful improvements that increase productivity, enhance product quality, and reduce injuries and illnesses. Our awareness training offerings will help a workforce recognize hazards and understand effective work practices designed to reduce these hazards are at a greater risk of harm.
Fall Protection Training
The Grainger Safety Services network offers awareness level and competent person training that covers the OSHA Fall Protection Standards 29 CFR 1910 Subpart D and 29 CFR 1926 Subpart M for both General Industry and Construction. Special attention will be given to Personal Fall Arrest Systems. Participants evaluate hazards and develop practical resolutions within the general industry and construction environments.
Forklift/Aerial Lift Training
The Grainger Safety Services network offers forklift/powered industrial truck operator training and train-the-trainer training. This course is designed for personnel who operate forklifts and other powered industrial trucks in the workplace. Topics include an overview of the OSHA standard (29 CFR 1910.178 Subpart N) and other safety standards for safe operation of industrial trucks. In addition to the classroom portion of the course, all participants will complete hands-on training with the type of lift/vehicle they will be using on the job.
Hazard Communication (HAZCOM/GHS) Training
In 1992, the UN Conference on the Environment and Development (UNCED) established six program areas to strengthen national and international efforts related to the environmentally sound management of chemicals. Among these was the “harmonization of classification and labeling of chemicals.” The UN Committee of Experts for the Transport of Dangerous Goods and the Globally Harmonized System (GHS) of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals formally adopted the GHS in December 2002 and it was most recently revised in 2011. In the U.S., the government agency that regulates MSDSs and labels is the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). Rather than promulgate a new regulation, OSHA has chosen to modify the existing Hazard Communication Standard (HCS). The Grainger Safety Services network offers comprehensive employee training surrounding Hazard Communication and GHS.
HAZWOPER 8/24/40-Hour Training
Meeting the requirements of OSHA’s 29 CFR 1910.120 HAZWOPER Standard, the Grainger Safety Services network's 40-hour courses are designed for persons performing emergency response, cleanup, transportation or other activities involving hazardous materials. They also meet EPA requirements for work involving Superfund projects. The 24-hour course satisfies the initial training requirements for workers on-site for a specific limited task or in a monitoring and a characterized area where respirators are not required. Those with prior 24- or 40-hour course certification are required to take an annual refresher (8-hour) course to meet the requirements of 29 CFR 1910.120 or 1926.65. Students are updated on recent OSHA activities, enforcement directives, and interpretations, health and safety procedures.
The Grainger Safety Services network offers lockout/tagout (LOTO) training for personnel who are required to service, maintain or work around energized equipment. Topics include an overview of OSHA's Control of Hazardous Energy (29 CFR 1910.147); an overview of controls and procedures required to prevent the unexpected energization, start-up or release of stored energy and the dangers involved; methods to recognize different types of energy hazards; definitions of authorized, affected and other employees; energy-isolating device definitions; definitions of lockout and tagout; program categories; and energy control procedures and appropriate control procedures. This course focuses on the specific requirements of OSHA 29 CFR 1910.147 Subpart J.
Machine Guard Safety Training
The Grainger Safety Services network's machine guard safety training courses provide machine operators with life-saving instruction on how to control the machines they utilize and how to reduce risk of injury. Proper operation of industrial machinery, including the machine guard, can improve productivity and safety. Topics include guarding essentials, such as guards preventing contact, being secured in place or otherwise tamperproof, not creating new hazards, and the allowance for lubrication with the guard still in place, all while not interfering with machine operation.
OSHA 10-Hr. General Industry/Construction Safety Training
The Grainger Safety Services network's 10-hour courses will acquaint participants with major 1910 general industry or construction regulations. These courses cover training and compliance obligations and program development. Attendees will receive an official course completion card from federal OSHA. The courses are designed for anyone who needs a thorough review of general industry/construction safety.
OSHA 30-Hr. General Industry/Construction Safety Training
The Grainger Safety Services network's 30-hour courses will explain and promote compliance with general industry/construction regulations. The courses cover handling worksite inspections, training and compliance obligations; hazard abatement; and program development. Attendees will receive an official course completion card from federal OSHA. The courses are designed for anyone who needs an in-depth understanding of safety, such as safety and health managers, supervisors, human resources managers, construction supervisors, etc. Participants will receive the latest 1910 standards book.
