Table saws (sometimes called contractor saws) make accurate straight and beveled cuts. They have a flat surface to support large or long workpieces, such as sheet goods. They have a spinning blade mounted under a table to support the workpiece as it's pushed through the blade. Cabinet table saws are stationary floorstanding models that are operated by plugging them into a wired power source. Portable saws are often used by contractors because they can be moved around a worksite. Cordless saws are battery-operated so they can be used away from wired power sources. Corded table saws generally have more torque than cordless saws and have longer run times.
