Spanner wrenches have one or several pins or hooks to tighten or loosen drive spanner head screws, threaded collars, retainer rings, and shafts. They can access hard-to-reach areas that are not accessible with a pipe wrench and are suitable for use in loosening old water pipes, faucets, and gas pipes.
Fixed-Pin Spanner Wrenches
Fixed-pin spanner wrenches have a curved arm with a small pin or nub on the end. The pin or nub fits into one of the holes in the nut and the handle is turned to loosen or tighten the nut. These wrenches are not adjustable and can only tighten or loosen one size nut.
