Hex screwdrivers have a handle and a shaft end with an hexagonal (six-sided) tip that fits into the hex indentation on the screwhead for screwing (tightening) or unscrewing (loosening) a variety of hex head screws. Hex tips provide a more secure grip on the fastener head and are less likely to cam out (slip out of the head) and damage the screwhead and adjacent surfaces compared to a slotted head screwdriver.

Insulated Hex Screwdrivers
Insulated hex screwdrivers have an insulated handle and shaft to protect against electrical shock from live electrical circuits and are suitable for use near electrical components when tightening and loosening screws. The insulated handle also allows for a more secure grip when turning compared to a noninsulated handle.
