Also known as line-up punches, their long, slim body presses into each hole and shifts it into alignment with the other holes. They are commonly used to position sheet metal and assemble parts in automotive and manufacturing applications.

Double-sided aligning punches taper at each end to push through holes and align them or enlarge them. Also known as barrel drift pins, they are commonly used to line up bolt holes in flanges. They are positioned by hand and not struck into place.
