Also known as insertion and penetration probes, they’re built with short or long straight sensors with a blunt, sharp, or reduced-diameter tip. The pointed tip is used to penetrate and measure the internal temperature of materials. They are commonly used to measure the temperature of molten plastics and rubbers and for recording temperatures in food production, storage, and transportation applications.
