Petroleum Ether, Anhydrous is obtained from petroleum refineries as the portion of the distillate which is intermediate between the lighter naphtha and the heavier kerosene. Petroleum ether is mostly used by pharmaceutical companies and in the manufacturing process. Anhydrous petroleum ether is used when performing certain reactions where the presence of water can prevent a chemical reaction from happening, or form undesirable products.

Petroleum Ether, ACS Reagent, is also known as benzine and petroleum naphtha. It is a highly flammable, liquid hydrocarcbon that is mainly used as a nonpolar solvent. It is used as an essential ingredient in label removing products and as a low boiling solvent. It is intended for organic synthesis, prep-LC, glassware cleaning, and general laboratory use.

Petroleum Ether, HPLC Grade, is suitable for GC and pesticide residue analysis.

Water Reagent, ACS is used in many chemical reactions. Due to its ability to dissolve many ionic compounds, water is a common solvent in inorganic reactions. It is, however, rarely used as a reaction solvent since it is amphoteric and is not able to dissolve reactants very well.

Water HPLC Grade, also known as deionized water, is used in most HPLC mobile phases and in sample preparation. Because it dissolves most substances and is nontoxic, it is known as a Universal Solvent. To be used for HPLC analysis, it must conform to the highest purity standards. It is glass-distilled, sub-micron filtered, and passed through rigorous specification testing to help ensure accurate, repeatable results.

Water Molecular Biology Reagent is prepared from double distilled and deionized water.

  • 98% Thiazolyl Blue Tetrazolium Bromide, 1g Clear Glass Vial, #298-93-1

    Thiazolyl Blue Tetrazolium Bromide
  • Thiazolyl Blue Tetrazolium Bromide may be used in measurement of cell proliferation. MTT produces a yellowish solution that is converted to dark blue, water-insoluble MTT formazan by mitochondrial dehydrogenases of living cells. The blue crystals are solubilized with acidified isopropanol and the intensity is measured colorimetrically at 570 nm. MTT has been used as a histochemical/cytochemical reagent and for the detection of NAD. ADP-linked enzyme systems in tissue cannot be detected with MTT, due to binding of the cation by the cyanide trap used. MTT is rapidly reduced to the formazan, which chelates with nickel, copper, and cobalt; the cobalt chelate has been used in oxidative systems.
