287 products
Self-retracting lifelines, or SRLs, connect a worker's full-body safety harness to an anchor point on a building or structure to stop the worker from free-falling and help prevent injuries in the event of a fall. They attach to a D-ring on the safety harness and extend and retract as the worker moves, allowing him or her to move freely. If the worker starts to fall, the SRL will brake suddenly to stop the fall and absorb its energy. SRLs allow the worker to move farther away from the anchor point than would be possible with a shock-absorbing lanyard. SRLs typically stop a fall within 2 to 4 ft. and require less fall clearance than shock-absorbing lanyards. Self-retracting lifelines are commonly used by people working at heights in the construction, manufacturing, welding, utilities, transportation, and oil and gas industries.
Personal SRLs
Personal self-retracting lifelines (SRLs) are typically lighter and more compact than mounted SRLs, and they're portable. They are available with one or two lifelines, or legs. Personal SRLs with two lifelines (also known as twin SRLs) allow workers to remain connected to one anchor point as they move to and connect to another anchor point.

Mounted SRLs
Mounted self-retracting lifelines (SRLs) are typically longer than personal SRLs, which allows workers to move farther away from the anchor point. They also tend to be heavier than personal SRLs and are generally left mounted in place on the anchor point. Some mounted SRLs come with a tag line that helps workers reach the SRL from the ground.

Sealed Mounted SRLs for Harsh Environments
Sealed mounted self-retracting lifelines (SRLs) for harsh environments are sealed to ensure no dirt, particles, or contaminants can enter the lifeline's braking system and damage it. Mounted SRLs are typically longer than personal SRLs, which allows workers to move farther away from the anchor point. They also tend to be heavier than personal SRLs and are generally left mounted in place on the anchor point. Some mounted SRLs come with a tag line that helps workers reach the SRL from the ground. Sealed mounted SRLs are often used outdoors or in dirty environments, such as in food processing, water treatment, painting, and railroad applications.

Arc-Flash Rated Personal SRLs
Arc-flash rated personal self-retracting lifelines (SRLs) are constructed of materials that won't burn, melt, or conduct energy if they're exposed to high voltages or heat caused by an arc flash. Personal SRLs are portable and usually weigh less than mounted SRLs. They are available with one or two lifelines, or legs. Personal SRLs with two lifelines (also known as twin SRLs) allow workers to remain connected to one anchor point as they move to and connect to another anchor point. Arc-flash rated personal SRLs are typically worn by people who are working at heights around electrical currents and arc-flash hazards, such as utility workers in bucket trucks and maintenance workers near electrical transmitters.

Hot Work Personal SRLs
Hot work personal self-retracting lifelines (SRLs) are made from materials that resist damage from flames and sparks that would fray, melt, or burn other SRLs. Personal SRLs are portable and usually weigh less than mounted SRLs. They are available with one or two lifelines, or legs. Personal SRLs with two lifelines (also known as twin SRLs) allow workers to remain connected to one anchor point as they move to and connect to another anchor point. Hot work personal SRLs are typically used by workers who are welding, grinding, or performing other hot work at heights.

Mounted SRLs with Connection-Sensing Alarm
Connection-sensing mounted SRLs (self-retracting lifelines) sound an alarm and flash lights when they are disconnected from a harness. The alarm and lights help ensure that workers are connected to the SRL when working. The alarm sounds when it comes in close proximity to a harness that has a compatible RFID tag, and stops sounding when the worker attaches the SRL to the harness. Mounted self-retracting lifelines (SRLs) are typically longer than personal SRLs, which allows workers to move farther away from the anchor point. They also tend to be heavier than personal SRLs and are generally left mounted in place on the anchor point.
