Grade 8620 alloy steel rods and discs contain nickel for strength and ductility as well as chromium and molybdenum for increased abrasion and wear resistance properties. They have a high-case hardness and are often machined into gears, springs, hand tools, plates, and various machine parts and components. Grade 8620 is regarded as the most popular carburizing steel.
