Industrial air-operated double diaphragm (AODD) pumps use compressed air to drive the pump. Industrial air-operated double diaphragm pumps are self-priming, can run dry for long periods, and are sealless. They do not produce a spark during operation and can be grounded, making them suited for environments where hazardous, explosive, or easily-ignitable materials are present. Diaphragm pumps handle liquids of varying consistencies and viscosities, suspended solids, fuels, and oils. Industrial air-operated double diaphragm pumps are used for a wide range of applications such as general transfer or dewatering in mining operations to move abrasives.
