A Bill of Lading, also known as a B/L or BoL, is a form used to record the handling and transfer of cargo in shipping and receiving applications. They allow handlers to record product descriptions, shipping units, weight, rates, and charges. Three-part carbonless forms provide duplicate copies of the written record for both the customer and the business. They can be used for any type of shipping, including long-haul trucking, carriage by sea, railway transport, and air cargo.
