Top-track wire shelving takes up less floor space than standard wire shelving with the same number of shelving units. It consists of two stationary end shelving units, one or more mobile middle shelving units, and a track that joins all the units at the top. The middle units can slide along the track to open up an aisle between any two units. The overhead track does not impede the movement of carts and other equipment through the aisle. Items can be seen through the wire shelving, air can pass through the shelving for ventilation, and water can flow through the shelving if fire sprinklers are activated. Debris falls through the shelving, which helps keep it clean. Top-track wire shelving stands on a floor and provide multiple levels of storage for organizing and staging tools, supplies, and inventory. It makes efficient use of vertical space in storage areas without having to mount shelving to a wall.
