Winches revolve cable or rope around drums to generate pulling forces that move heavy loads horizontally and/or vertically. Manual winches are operated by hand, portable, and suitable for environments without power. Electric winches use AC or DC power to move heavy loads with less effort than manual winches. Air winches are powered by compressed air systems to continuously move heavy loads. They don't create sparks and can operate in flammable, dusty, and dirty environments. Hydraulic winches use pressurized fluid systems to pull heavy objects and can operate nonstop if the hydraulic system they're connected to is running. Winch cables connect loads with winches to move them. Mounting, power, and control accessories for winches secure, connect, and enhance winches.
