Metal-cutting hole saws make clean cuts in common metals such as steel, aluminum, and mild-steel alloys. Hole saws cut a ring of material out of the workpiece. This speeds drilling and allows larger holes to be drilled using a handheld power drill than would be possible using a drill bit.
