Diamond-tipped core bits have a hollow center surrounded by multiple cutting edges. They cut around the perimeter of a hole and require less power and force than solid drill bits when making large holes in materials such as concrete, masonry, and limestone. The bits' cutting edges have been coated with diamond abrasives at the tip, which allows them to grind through very hard materials. The bits' threaded shank attaches securely to a compatible drill or adapter.
