Breathers and vents attach to a container or reservoir in a lubrication system to relieve built-up heat and pressure and keep the containers or reservoirs at a neutral pressure, which prevents leaks and blow-outs. Breathers also allow fresh air into the container while keeping dirt, water, and other contaminants out.
