MR Light Bulbs
Multifaceted reflector (MR) light bulbs have several built-in reflectors on the inside of the bulb that direct light at a precise angle as it exits the top of the bulb. MR bulbs produce a narrower beam of light than R, BR, and PAR light bulbs. They are used in display cases and small task lights where the bulb is spotlighting objects that are a short distance away. They are also used in elevator lights. MR bulbs are compact and can fit into tight areas where the bulb will be concealed.

BR Light Bulbs
Bulged reflector (BR) light bulbs have a reflective inner surface that increases the bulbs' light output. They also have a reflector in their neck that prevents light from becoming trapped in the bulbs' neck and sides and instead directs it forward out the bulbs' top. This additional reflector creates a bulge just above the bulbs' base. BR light bulbs produce a wide beam angle with a broad pattern of light and are commonly used as floodlights and corridor lights.
