Emergency Lighting Inverters
Emergency lighting inverters act as an external backup power source to keep light fixtures lit for a specific amount of time if the power supply to the fixtures goes so that people in the surrounding area can see where they're going as they evacuate. They help building owners meet code requirements for emergency lighting without having to install separate emergency lighting fixtures. Emergency inverters are compatible with most types of lighting fixtures, including light fixtures that do not have ballasts or drivers inside the fixture. One inverter can supply backup power to multiple lighting fixtures, and fixtures powered by an emergency inverter will supply brighter light output than they would if they were powered by an emergency ballast or driver. The inverters are mounted outside of lighting fixtures and do not need to be installed near the fixtures.
