Hydraulic interchangeable filter elements are used to replace existing OEM filters in hydraulic systems when they become full or dirty. Hydraulic filter elements get dirty as a normal part of the filtering process and need to be changed to ensure the system is functioning as intended. Filters can also be changed to meet cleaning needs, such as when higher or lower filter ratings are desired.

Canister filter elements (sometimes called spin-on filters) are used to replace worn, damaged, or dirty canister elements. Filters can also be changed when higher or lower filter ratings are required or when needs change. Filters should be monitored as a normal part of a maintenance plan and should be changed regularly. Dirty filters can reduce flow rates and filtering effectiveness, which can have a negative impact on system performance.
