UL1077 listed supplementary protectors are used as extra protection for devices with branch circuit protection that is not sensitive enough for downstream components or where branch protection isn't required. They open the circuit upon overload or in the event of a short circuit to protect equipment from damage. They mount on standard 35mm DIN rail to protect sensitive equipment, like luminaires, appliances, control circuits, control power transformers, and other electrical equipment. One-pole breakers protect a single circuit, 2-pole breakers protect two, 3-pole breakers protect three, and 4-pole breakers protect four.
