Non-Dimming Electronic CFL Ballasts use electronic circuitry to help start and operate compact fluorescent lamps, and help eliminate the flickering and humming sometimes associated with CFLs.

Rapid-Start Ballasts require nonshunted sockets. Great with frequent On/Off switching cycles.

Programmed-Start Ballasts use a premium starting method that extends lamp life in frequent switching applications. Require nonshunted sockets.

Instant-Start Ballasts tend to come with factory-installed shunted sockets. Great for use when maximum energy savings are desired and when lamps are not switched frequently during normal operations.
