Sanding discs are circular abrasive discs that sand down wood, metal, and plastic surfaces to remove material, light defects, corrosion, paint, and rust. They attach to disc sanders or rotary power tools such as Dremels or drills and allow for good control of a workpiece, as workers can see the workpiece at all times when sanding discs are in use. Depending on the abrasive material and grit grade, use sanding discs to blend mill marks, buff small welding seams and tool marks, and even out edges on surfaces. Different mounting systems, including adhesive-backed and hook-and-loop discs, allow for quick switchouts of sanding discs. Sanding disc rolls are rolls of sanding discs, designed for applications requiring heavy or frequent sanding, such as in woodshops.
