Rated 5 out of 5 by I maintain (2) mechanical sewer systems and this is only the third Zoeller pump I've bought over the past 15 years. And this one is a spare, so that aught to tell you what kind of service I've gotten over the years from thses pumps. Before going to the Zoeller pumps, I had used others but never got much more than a years service. October 9, 2013

Do you just place this pump in the sump hole, pipe it up, and plug it in or are there settings you need to mess with like the float?

My mom has one which has been working find for 2 years and just started to cycle on/off. It keeps starting to lift the water but then it spits the water out a small hole on the side of the body. There is also a hole which had been drilled in the discharge pipe just as it thread into the pump. It also spits water out this hole.

HELP! My moms 95 and driving me crazy so any information would be appreciated.

Answer:
Hello,
Sounds like a new pump, the hole in the pipe is reccomended. But if it is shooting out the side or the bottom, it could be plugged or worn out. There is no adjustment of the switch, just place it in the pit plumb it and plug it in. If when the pump shuts off the fluid flows back into the pit, you problem might be the Check Valve.. You can call us and ask to speak with tech support at 800-356-0783..

I hope this answers your question, thanks for using Grainger Ask & Answer!

Answer:
The only settings would be the level that you want to keep in you sump. I suspend my pumps in the sumps so they do not sit on the bottom of the sump tank where solids may accumulate. You can do that by the length of you discharge pipe.

Answer:
The holes are there so the pump won't get air locked. Suppose to be there. No settings to mess with. Set at factory.

Answer:
The turn on point for this unit will require the water depth in your pit to reach approximately 7 ¼”. If your water depth does not reach that level, please contact us at 1-800-GRAINGER for other options.

Answer:
Grainger has contacted the product supplier and has been advised by them of the following:

If the pump is placed directly on the base of the pit there will be approximately 3” of water left when the pump turns off.
