I am needing to replace my 1F56-444, Grainger # 4E030 thermostat because of problems with the heat-off-cool switch. The switch lever has been giving me problems due to the ball binding inside of the switch. The metal ball is needed to provide electrical contact, but when it becomes lodged in the wrong position, I get no heat until I play with the switch to get the ball into the correct position, which I have no way of seeing with the unit assembed. My model number has been discontinued and I understand that the closest model is 1F56N-444, Grainger # 2KFY2. I just decided to try the Dayton model 4PU47. I was hoping to be able to compare the switch assembly details among these models, but I guess that this is beyond the capability of your web page. Thankyou.

Answer:
Grainger has contacted the product supplier and has been advised by them of the following. The manufacturer does not release the information on the exact type of switch used on the Dayton model. You might consider switching to a digital thermostat that would use push buttons instead. Thank you for using Grainger Ask and Answer.
