Answer:
Hello Barbi,
This unit is a supplemental eye wash, it requires 2 movements to activate. So this unit will not regulate the temperature of the water, nor does it comply with ANSI Spec Z35.8.1-2004 as an Emergency Eyewash Station. This unit is intened as a non compliant unit..
I hope this answers your question, thanks for using Grainger Ask & Answer!

Answer:
Temperature is controlled at the faucet. Mfg. recommends to turn on cold water only. I agree. I know how sensative the eye can be and it is NOT recommended to have warm water. I have found that cool water is more soothing to the eye.

Answer:
Grainger has contacted the product supplier we and have been advised by them of the following: this unit does not have a built in regulator, you would have to adjust the temperature yourself. With that being said, this unit will not meet OSHA/ANSI guidelines for an emergency eyewash unit. This unit requires two steps to activate, turning on the water and pulling the knob to activate. In order to meet the OSHA/ANSI requirements activation needs to be only one step.

Answer:
Grainger has contacted the product supplier and has been advised by them that the faucet, item #3TFH5, has a 1/2" female NPT inlet whereas the eyewash, item 2DCJ8, does not, so they are not compatible.

However, per the vendor, the eyewash could be ordered to come with a 1/2" female NPT fitting.
