This appears to work with only a 2 wire connection. If it were wire to a single phase 120V circuit, will it operate? The concern is it having the nuetral through it's outer member, physical mounting (as-in three wire operation) which then would prevent 120V operation. If it were to work, I would expect the output to decrease by half at minimum.

Hello. In theory yes you could wire it 120 volts. I would not condone or suggest wiring that unit for 120 volts. There are 120 volt strip heaters on the same page as this item in the 405 catalog, page 424.
