Answer: 
The manufacturer states that this splice kit is designed for use in underground and overhead environments. In general, a splice cannot be made and rendered inaccessable without removing or damaging the structure in which it is concealed. The NEC has specific guidelines for splicing wire. Your local inspector will be able to be more specific about what is allowable in your area with the wire type you are using.

Are there Grainger products you can recommend for a dryer circuit that are NEC compliant - article 334-40b, 2005 & 2008 NEC? That is, something for a dryer circuit that is similar to the Tyco Romex splice kit that is used to splice 12 or 14 AWG Romex?
