Rated 3 out of 5 by Change the LID I bought this product to replace another 16-oz travel thermos that I have had for several years and liked very much. I am pleased with the product overall, the side walls seem a little thicker than the earlier model, the diameter of the mug is bigger (so the mug is shorter in height), and the quality seems up to Stanley's reputation. However, I feel that it needs to have the lid re-designed. The lid is simple and easy to use, but because there are large cavities on the inside of the lit on either side of the drinking hole that are only one layer of plastic thick, this product does not keep hot liquids hot for nearly as long as the earlier model I bought this one to replace. I think the heat is lost through those two large cavities and this problem could be easily overcome by simply closing off the bottom of the cavity. This one change would add considerable insulation to the lid and would rectify the heat loss through the single layer of plastic that it currently has. November 26, 2014
