I see the word "coated" a lot, but I don't see one clue as to what type of coating it is. What are these nails coated with?

Answer:
Coating - Special proprietary polymer coating that acts as a lubricant as the fastener is driven and then adds extra holding power once driven. Most heavy duty fasteners are coated for extra holding power. That is the definition provided by the manufacturer of that nail. Thanks for using Grainger Ask & Asnwer.
