Compliance and Restrictions

Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 15reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by great price very dependable and durable This skil cordless 1/2" drill does everything the cordless dewalt 1/2" does for a hundred dollars cheaper January 7, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by The 2898 The 2898 (not lithium) is the biggest piece if junk and waste if money I have ever owned. I hope the lithium is 99% better because the 2898 is not even worth 1 percent. The battery barely has enough to drill a few holes and if fully charges and left attached or unattached will drain in a few days. Worthless! August 31, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Get's the job done I don't know why I put off the purchase of one of these for so long. Now that I have bought it, I have used it all over the house to get things done. Projects that once wore me out are done in a snap. April 22, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best cordless drill I've owned. I love everything about this drill. I love it's light weight construction, the long lasting battery, the battery indications light and the side handle for extra support when I need it. The carrying case was a bonus. This drill gives me the power I need when I need it. January 20, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great product. Has a lot of power, and for a good price. I do not have any problem with it yet. January 9, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Perfect for the unhandyman I'm inept when it comes to most mechanical things, but I needed a drill for occasional use around the house. This Skil is a perfect fit at a good price. It's lightweight, the batteries have good life and it's convenient. November 22, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by My drill has all the power I need for the projects I am happy that I bought the Skil drill that I picked, it has preformed great. October 20, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best DIY medium cost Drill/Driver I've owned I have owned many cordless "Drills", mostly 12-14.4vdc for medium fixup jobs around the house, then I got into the 18v range as I started tackling heavier jobs as our home ages.  My B&D came with jigsaw, sander and they came in handy until other oscilating tools at reasonable cost came.  I tried driving a 1/4" lag 3" into a properly piloted 2x4 on my deck and the B&D shank torqued and bent, it was useless for anything other than boring holes in soft material with a bit smaller than intentioned, or as I recently used it with a rasp bit to mill an aluminum ring spacer for our shower faucet.  Next came a Craftsman that came with a hole bit set.  I got a nice heavy screwdriver, but it has no power to drill or drive anything tougher than sheetrock.   My new addition is the Skil lithium 18v and I must say it is almost as poweful as the Makita hammer drills we use at work to drive 5/16 -3/8 lags and hanger bolts into rafters for solar mounting.  I was in a hurry and drove a #12 x 4" wood screw through a 3/16 piece of aluminum strut and a weather hardened 4x4 to mount a solar led security light and it zipped it in like it was styrofoam.  Did three more the same and this was with one light on the battery indicator from using hole saws on three new door installs including hinges and putting up new sheetrock in the hallway.  I hadn't charged the battery for a few days prior. My other love of this drill is how well balanced it is, all others lean back away from the work, this one leans into the work just a bit like its ready for action.Rubber base on bottom of battery....Genius, especially if you have ever worked on a 5/12 pitched asphalt shingle roof, you have to lay the drill sideways next to your foot, or straddle the cap, or buy a holster....this you set it down and its right there again when you reach for it.My wish list would be to add a rail system like guns have to add attachments like a light, level, magnetic strip for holding bits, some kind of extending depth gauge so you don't have to find a drill bit short enough, or tape your bit at the depth you want?
