We are being told that the gaurd has to be interlocking with the power source. If the gaurd is not in place the drill will not work.
Is this type of gaurd required by OSHA or can I have the plastic shield gaurd listed above?

Answer:
This guard is an OSHA approved guard. However, some states require different rules. This guard will not connect to the power switch. Please check with your Local OSHA representative.
