Rated 5 out of 5 by 1reviewer.
Rated 5 out of 5 by I was a bit apprehensive when I purchased this equipment because of its 40' range and the far side of my driveway is 60' from mounting, but I needn't have been. After I mounted it, it was picking up heavy pickup trucks out on the roadway 120' away. Aiming it downward a bit easily solved that problem. Now if any vehicle or person walking enters my circular driveway #about 60' x 120'# within its range of sensing it will sound an alarm. In fact, while passing through the driveway, it will dingy, dingy, dingy, pause 5 seconds, dingy, dingy, dingy, pause 5 seconds, dingy, dingy, dingy. #dingy, dingy, dingy being the chime selected# It may be a nuisance at times, but it certainly lets one know that there is something out there. Since I have no animals running around I have no idea whether it will sense them or not. Needless to say, I am well pleased with its quality and performance during the short time that I've had it. Answer:
Grainger has contacted the product supplier and have been advised by them of the following: on the bottom of the motion sensor is a battery compartment. You would slide the door and pull out.

Answer:
We apologize for the confusion with the listing on the ranges of this sensor. The manufacturer information states: “The weather sealed transmitter has up to 100 foot operating range and 140° x 40 ft. detection zone.”
