Rated 5 out of 5 by I've been using this model heater for about 20 yrs. (two different ones# and it surpasses the round wire mesh burner models by a long way and is worth the extra money. Once the ceramic grids start glowing, in just a few minutes, you can feel the infrared heat up to about a 12 ft. distance. The first one I used in an automotive shop, customers would come in and stand in front of it so we'd have to tell them to move away because their clothes would start smoking. You don't want to set it up too close to anything that is flammable or could melt. I bought one for myself. Recently, I was having a garage built and the coldest day of the year hit #for N. FL), I let the contractor use it to finish the slab. They loved it and are looking to get one for themselves. Super easy to operate, Clamp onto a 20 or 30 lb propane cylinder and just hold the button and light then hold the button about a minute more. No stand needed. January 17, 2015

The heater fires up just fine. After the ceramic turns red, about 3 minuets, it will flash out yellow flames and sounds like a blow torch. Blue and yellow flames shoot above the heater as the ceramic begins to cool. Then the heater shuts down.

When I attempt to light the flame it takes off like a blow torch. After it cool down it will fire up fine and go through the same process then shuts down in about 4 minuets.
