Rated 2 out of 5 by Not very accurate. Not within 2 degrees. I was going to use this for produce temperatures and cooler checks but it said that my coolers was 29 - 30 degrees F and there was no ice build up on the produce. I calibrated a mechanical thermometer and in that cooler it read 36 F. I thought I might have got a bad one and the maker of the company sent me a new one and it read the same. This is supposed to be for produce and product reading and it is not even close to being able to use it in the 1 - 2 degree tolerance. I also pointed it on some ice in another cooler and it read 24 degrees F. March 22, 2012

I don't know how this got locked, but it reads 'lock' on the screen. I tried keeping the batteries out overnight, but it didn't work. I took the temperature on one item then put it down to help someone then when I picked it up the laser didn't work and I saw the 'lock'.
